There is something to be said about not living in the past. We hear it, we are taught it, and many of us live it, or at least try to. However, the past we have lived has contributed to our present life. We have learned, we have gained experience, we have felt, we have observed, and we have been impacted by and been an impact in the lives of people we have come into contact with.

There is also a past beyond our own years. The past lived by our parents, our grandparents, other relatives and family friends, our ancestors, and people who have never even crossed paths with those in our line. There is a place here, an important place, to remember what has been experienced and what has been learned, so that we may progress forward an improved version of what we were before as a species, in balance with all other species on this world. We are still working on this balanced progress.

This week, it has seemed particularly important to me to remember. We seem to know that things have happened in our past, that things were said, experiences created, and grave impacts came from them, and yet we do not seem to really remember so we can glean their lessons in order to help us move forward.

Remembrance Day is a time here in Canada to pay respect to those who have fought in intense war situations so that we may write, breathe, and live in freedom. Some of them never made it home, some of them came home to live long lives but were forever impacted by what they lived. This is one occasion during the year when I feel we really need to remember. We need to talk about the past, teach about it, learn different perspectives, and then step forward, wiser. For some people, it is one day to wear the red meaningful poppy. For me, that poppy always stays on a good few days after, as a reminder, and an honour. It is full of so much history and memory.

I was honoured to lead a group of women entrepreneurs yesterday, on November 11th, to remember, to pay respect, to fill ourselves with gratitude for what was done on our behalf by many people who will never know us. We are gifted the opportunity to treat people well, to live with integrity, to do our best, to behave in kindness and respect, and to inquire or act when others are not.

As soon as I knew I was to lead these wonderful women into a minute of silence, the words started to pour into my mind. This time I did start to write them down immediately, knowing I did not want to forget what was so important to come so quickly and intensely. Here is what followed in what I call, inspired writing. It was my honour to read it for the group as they reflected quietly listening and it is my honour to share it with you now.

Bless you and yours. Bless those who fought and strategized and envisioned a better life with greater ideals of balance and inclusion and kindness for all. May we continue to strive for this, always remembering.

And bless the amazing lady who placed a new poppy at my seat at the end of our lunch meeting. It is walking with me proudly on my lapel.

Lest we forget.

Lest We Forget

We stand and remember.

We stand and hold space.

Space of gratitude.

Space to honour.

Space to breathe.

Space to reach out and touch another person,

in compassion,

in understanding,

and in appreciation.

We hold space

to remember,

to bring light.

We bring light

to those who have gone before us,

to those who lived in dark times

and found the way forward,

to those who passed on knowledge

and stories and experience,

so we may learn,

so we may be stronger,

so we may be better,

and so we may never forget.

We hold this space,

filling it and ourselves

with the essence of freedom,

freedom of choice,

freedom to love,

freedom to build,

freedom to live our lives.

And we hold this space,

filling it and ourselves

with the power of joy,

with all that it means,

all that it brings,

and all that it speaks,

to us and through us

so we may live

each and every day

cherishing the essence of

Lest we forget.

Oracle Full Moon at the Hudson Labyrinth

Listen to your guidance!

I had a beautiful evening last night. The super bright Full Moon was cresting over the dark tree tops in the deep blue sky as I sat down to write, let it soak in, and look back at the pictures from my walk. I felt enchanted, energized, and enraptured after spending the dusk hour at the Hudson Labyrinth in Quebec, Canada (Please see link to its information below). It was guidance that brought me there, for the first time, in solitude of person, but surrounded by nature and spirit. A glorious walk through fields and woodlands, ancient trees standing tall & mystical, evening birdsong in the canapy and grasses, a rabbit down a side path, a curious cat wondering what I was doing sitting in stillness, flitting insects investigating & changing position as night falls, and then joyously just as I decided to say goodnight, bats overhead! The welcome sight of bats gives hope after populations have declined here and felt like a real honouring of the evening & night times.

What does an Oracle do with all this at a full moon? Clear, bless, and intend crystals. Breathe deeply. Whisper to the energies & feel their responses. Thank the trees for their wisdom. Bring an offering to the elemental energies. Pray for my own guidance & wisdom on this journey. And pull a card for myself...

Thank you to those who created and maintain such a special and peaceful place. I look forward to my next visit...

Blessed be.

Reflect or Expect

Reflect or Expect

Have you noticed how you plan and perceive certain dates and events? Recently as I have been listening to some wonderful podcasts, something struck me. The hosts were discussing the current Mercury Retrograde often referring to it in the context of challenges that can be felt during this planetary period. As I listened, it occurred to me that it sounded as though the hosts were expecting the retrograde cycle of Mercury to be a difficult time. This felt particularly strange as they tend to promote the idea of law of attraction and bringing what we think into existence.

Then yesterday was Friday May 13th and again I heard and read about the concerns some people were feeling related to the date.

So my idea of “Reflect or Expect” became more and more present. Being informed is important. It can help us to plan for a snow storm, for an event on our calendar, and to have food in our fridge on holiday dates when the stores are closed. Being informed may also give us too much opportunity to plan for a circumstance to be a challenge or a tough time. Be aware of what you expect for dates, events, and situations. Is it helpful to you or adding to a potential challenge, or creating craziness where none might have actually existed?

Reflecting is however an opportunity to notice what is going on in the present, see if there are reasons, be aware of feelings and sensations, and make changes where desired in our best interest of circumstance and attitude.

So do you reflect or expect?

My example: Feeling and thinking about Friday May 13th as being a day to feel and live in my goddess energy. Being a part of a wonderful networking luncheon with strong heart-centered women where I would stand in my strength & skills, was on my plan. Wearing jewelry, crystals, and clothing that aligned with what I wanted to feel and create, came along for the ride, by choice, to allow me to stay in that energy & those thoughts.

Wishing you powerful reflections and great expectations!

Full Moon Tribal Music Power

Posted on November 25, 2015 at 8:50 PM Comments comments (0)

As the Full Moon rises ahead of me, shimmering light through the haze of misty clouds, creates dark tree branch silouettes. They seem to want to dance in the stillness, in her moonlight, powerful, strong, and all the while natural and gentle.

There is a power in this full moon. I don't need to research it, I simply feel it and see where it guides me. As the night falls, I have been guided to visit different tribal music and dances, watching the power and strength of the Cherokee and Mohawk Pow Wow dances, drumming, and singing, through to the Haka and Aboriginal Dreamtime dance, and then led to Celtic music, discovering warrior and wolf pack Celtic tunes*, in respect and honour to all their traditions.

There is connection in music that calls to you, whaever its type, whatever its background. Allow yourself to feel, to connect, to let it move through you and touch you. The moon is inviting the basic rhythms and beats that come to you, they can heal, they can feed, they can soothe, and they can energize. The candles glow, the wood fire burns, the crystals call out to the light... Be with the energy, dance in the moonlight.

And now I connect with my Oracle self, with my cards... today's new card for connection is " Elder " ** ... perfect... tribal, power, leader, stepping into the light...

Blessings to you,

Choose to Believe

When we are asking questions to enhance or improve our lives we hope for clear answers. When we feel stuck or unsettled in our lives, we hope for clear guidance. As with many people in this journey of life, I have been constantly learning and often find myself in transition. Sometimes I know about the transition before it happens, other times it feels as though it is happening to me, strong guidance from my inner knowing and universal energies. It is not always an easy journey but it certainly has moments that are amazing and fascinating!

Those are the moments I hope for when I do oracle card readings. Moments of clarity and the feeling of oneness with the guidance and insights. It is great to be witness to that and I am always honoured to be a part of it. I also feel those similar moments frequently when I write poetry. Poems have been in my life for as long as I can remember. Over the last few years, they have more often had an inspirational quality to them providing another level of clarity and insight.

Poems that flow and create themselves are gifts, certainly to me the writer, and I hope to those who read them. One such poem happened recently, in the evening, written as a quick note, flowing from the source of all inspiration. It speaks to the moment I hope we all get, the moment of extreme clarity, helping us to realize the wonders within and all around us, helping us to believe! What do you Choose to Believe?

Light blessings,

Choose to Believe

There is a fleeting glimpse.

A moment of extreme clarity.

When one knows all

and sees all.

Potential becomes clear.

Beliefs align for the highest good.

Support is felt and created.

Doubt falls aside as if it never existed.

And there, up ahead,

is the high octane version.

The place that is fueled with pure energy,

good energy.

That which feeds us and is fed by us simultaneously

in a glorious wondrous balance.

What vision is in that moment;

what is possible there;

what is drawing us close

and inviting us to believe.

Where joy is rampant,

creativity has no bounds,

and uniqueness is the source of solutions,

the jumping off point for the real dance of life.

How are you a part?

What is your design?

What has your glimpse,

your moment of clarity,

shown you?

Turn aside and ignore

or choose to believe and take note.

So that becomes the lit step

in your creation

and our connection.

For today, I share my poem about new gatherings with you. Enjoy!

Light blessings,

Love and Oneness

Gathering here together

we have all come for our own reasons

we have been drawn here along our own paths

guided through our own journeys

and here now we find ourselves.

As we look upon each other

let us feel each energy that we bring

let us see the light that fills each heart and spirit

and let us know in some way

that we are all one.

Our past and our future

our history and our present

our emotions and our thoughts

will all help us to connect

to feel and to know

that which we are.

We ask that this connection to oneness

will help us to raise our energy

to allow our true lights to shine

be it for healing

or for greater unity

for an individual purpose

or to help this great Earth.

Allow us to know what rests deep inside

as well as what flows all around us.

Guide us to our greater good

for purpose

or for sheer joy.

May the great light of pure love

bring us what we need

and let us in turn

love forward.
