As the Full Moon rises ahead of me, shimmering light through the haze of misty clouds, creates dark tree branch silouettes. They seem to want to dance in the stillness, in her moonlight, powerful, strong, and all the while natural and gentle.
There is a power in this full moon. I don't need to research it, I simply feel it and see where it guides me. As the night falls, I have been guided to visit different tribal music and dances, watching the power and strength of the Cherokee and Mohawk Pow Wow dances, drumming, and singing, through to the Haka and Aboriginal Dreamtime dance, and then led to Celtic music, discovering warrior and wolf pack Celtic tunes*, in respect and honour to all their traditions.
There is connection in music that calls to you, whaever its type, whatever its background. Allow yourself to feel, to connect, to let it move through you and touch you. The moon is inviting the basic rhythms and beats that come to you, they can heal, they can feed, they can soothe, and they can energize. The candles glow, the wood fire burns, the crystals call out to the light... Be with the energy, dance in the moonlight.
And now I connect with my Oracle self, with my cards... today's new card for connection is " Elder " ** ... perfect... tribal, power, leader, stepping into the light...
Blessings to you,

First snowfall of the season here, bringing a blanket white to everything outside. It is a chance to reflect on perspective... A television show I recently watched, had one of the main characters excitedly anticipating the first snowfall, the crispness in the air, the way it changes the landscape. I watched in wonder thinking how I often approach this time. Today while I heard of those battling through traffic and others being reminded of things to do still before full-on winter, I was blessed with a quiet morning. I could reflect on my perspective looking out onto this new vision around me and choose, choose how I will approach it. The card I am connecting with today from a new Oracle deck for me (Native Spirit Oracle Cards by Denise Linn) features white snow capped mountains and a snowy feel to it all. The Eagle in it invites to look with a new perspective from high above. Perfect synchronicity. And so I look outside with welcome for this new phase and choose to celebrate what it brings!
How do you feel about the first snow fall? If you have children, what are their reactions to it?

This morning was a call to walk in the woods behind our house. Such a beautiful time of year, leaves falling softly, trees breathing in the open spaces. The air was crisp and invigorating.
I believe that there are those who can "whisper" to the trees... While I do not presume to call myself one, I do pay respect to the trees I walk by, touch them if I feel invited, talk to them if there is respect & thanks to be paid, and hug those who feel open to it. I am blessed to have some lovely big trees on the property I call home. One today, had a Grandmother energy about her and I am honoured to have spent some time with this wondrous Beech tree today... May your day be filled with beautiful moments to cherish, to heal & to teach you.
Love & Light,

Wonder about the power & energy all around us?
Have you ever stood outside before a storm?
I perfectly timed a swim before the thunderstorms rolled in on this summer's day. After storms overnight, it was the quiet between. I could hear the rumblings off in the distance as the cloud cover moved in overhead. It was as if the trees were all in a moment of pause feeling the energy that was already here & what was on its way. The air holding its breath, the creatures calming in readiness & recognition. I know it is partly the literal electricity around but with it came the reminder that we are all energy, we are all connected together with our natural world, even if we work & behave differently.
Remember to breathe in this energy whenever you need reminding and let the natural power be one with you again.

The Summer Solstice this year felt like a very strong day to me, full of meaning and energy. With that, I found myself writing a poem about what I was experiencing that day. Since then, I have had an inkling to add it to this page and it has stayed with me... so taking the hint, here it is!
I hope you enjoy the read
I welcome you
dear Summer's rain.
How you float down
from heavy rich clouds
through humid full air
to land on expectant ground.
Here you nourish.
Here you soak.
You bring life where dryness was,
allowing growth and vitality
Newness can blossom
and creation can take form
in its many ways.
The day was full of waiting
for your arrival.
Warmth rising from the earth,
meeting with the sun.
Hazy and lazy
in a sensuous embrace.
Energy drawing a balance
between light, heat,
and wondrous water.
And here, now,
as the sun sets on the longest day
you sprinkle from above.
Through the leaves,
passing the branches,
down to the ground.
To the vegetation,
to the creatures
dependent on you for survival.
Hear some sing in rejoice,
others safe and sheltered
to reap your rewards on the morrow.
Light shifts through the moving clouds
as dusk gives way to night.
Playful nature of the day
changes to mysterious adventures
by firefly lights flickering in the dark
as thunder announces the lighting from above.
Your melodious sounds hit every inch
Raindrops to touch.
Rivulets to cascade.
I greet you with respect
and leave you to your task
of watering and cooling
on this night,
this first Summer's night.
By frog song
and dripping sounds
a first Summer's day

Since I posted this on my Facebook page, I have had a lot of fun showing the salamander on my hand picture to people. It is really quite amusing to see the reactions people have! I hope you are enjoying something of nature on this Canada day!

I am blessed this day, while doing property work, to be entertained by a chipmunk family chasing each other & checking out what the human is doing, and to find this little fellow in one of my water buckets. I collect water to put into my rain barrel and it seems he/she thought it was a nice place for a swim! It's a leadback (dark coloured) Eastern Red-backed Salamander.
After a little walk-about of the property on my hand, he/she is back in the woodlands. Happy Summer to you little creatures!
